We travelled to Versailles using public transit today. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. (hat tip to Daphne Perkins)
The place was quite packed considering the time of year but we had a very good visit.
I've been struck by the carefully planted rows of trees that occur in every French city I've seen. The wonderful straight lines are viewed perfectly in the winter and early spring. The gardens of Versailles with their soaring trees are beautiful even without their summer splendour.
